Rocky Thigpen is a lifelong East Texan, proud Christian, and dedicated public servant running for the Texas House of Representatives in House District 9. Born and raised in Lufkin, Rocky’s deep roots and strong values are grounded in faith, family, and service to others.

A retired Sergeant with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Rocky spent decades patrolling all six counties of House District 9. From small towns to backroads, he knows this region and its people because he’s served them firsthand: keeping communities safe, enforcing the law, and standing up for what’s right.

In addition to his service in law enforcement, Rocky serves as Vice President of Overseas Hardwoods Company, where he leads with the same sense of duty and purpose. With experience balancing budgets, managing people, and navigating government regulations, Rocky knows what it takes to run a successful business and he’s ready to bring that same results-driven leadership to Austin.

Rocky Thigpen isn’t a career politician. He’s a public servant, a business leader, and a conservative who will always stand strong for the values that make East Texas great.

Rocky and his family live in Lufkin and are active members of their local church. He is committed to keeping House District 9 safe, strong, and rooted in the principles that define our way of life.
